A space that actually only came to life for about an hour a day. Between twelve and one it was packed; the rest of the time mostly empty. Maaike, Project Manager for Facility and Real Estate Projects at the Municipality of Almelo, wasn’t looking for a showpiece for the sake of a showpiece, but a place that invites you to linger. Warm, homely, and multifunctional; without making it immediately grand, expensive, or permanent.‘I’ve always felt like I could just make a call. That makes working together relaxed. Still,’ says Maaike. Together with Skepp, things were moved around, removed, and reused. The communication? Serious where necessary, informal where possible. Plans changed, choices were adjusted, and the pace remained high. ‘The process can also be fun. And it was.’One last addition? ‘I would gladly work with Skepp again.
